I've been walking through Disney's gates for over a decade now, and every single time still feels like coming home. I grew up on these stories. These characters were my friends during the lonely stretches of childhood, so when I step into the parks, it's like giving little girl Gini the biggest hug. That's the magic I want for you, too: a trip that doesn't just check a box, but actually fills your heart. I'm Disney College of Knowledge certified, and Disneyland is my home base, though I plan across every corner of Disney's world.
I love a milestone trip. I've helped plan for engagements (yes, I got engaged at Disneyland myself), milestone birthdays, family firsts, and the kind of trip you'll talk about for years. If you're picturing something to celebrate, I want to help you build it.
Some of my proudest trip-planning experience, though, didn't come from luxury vacations. It came from being a single mom, saving and scraping to make a Disneyland trip happen for my son and me every single year. Those trips were where we got to be carefree, say yes to each other, and just be. I got really good at stretching a budget without stretching thin the magic, and I believe every family deserves that, not just the ones with room in the budget for it. So whether you're planning a big celebration and wondering if it's actually affordable, or you've never considered Disney possible for your family at all, I want you to know: it can be.
Before travel planning, I spent 11 years teaching in low-income schools, and I saw firsthand what it does for a young person to have an experience that shows them the size of the world, their place in it and all of the possibilities available to them.
When I'm not in Fantasyland, New Orleans Square, or eating a churro by the castle, you can find me in Colorado with my husband, my 17-year-old son, and a gaggle of pets who couldn't care less about Lightning Lanes (although I think Roxie would particularly love Big Thunder Mountain).
